Certus Projects Pty Ltd is a civil engineering contractor in Sydney. We are specialist engineers engaged by Tier 1 companies, government and private institutions to deliver complex infrastructure works of high quality, value and integrity to our community.
We have several projects in the Sydney Metro area and we are looking for experienced Civil Engineers to join our teams. Specifically, we have opportunities for engineers looking to be challenged in detailed works, particularly in rail, bridges, road and utilities.

Certus Projects are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in civil works. As the successful candidate, you will be tendering for projects between $1M – $50M. This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator that is ready to take on a new challenge in playing a key role in the strategic development of a growing company. Work closely with your Estimating Team, Directors and Project Managers.
- Identify, price and submit head contract variations to the client, and negotiate financial outcomes with the client’s representatives.
- Undertake regular quantity verification analysis on the developing design to ensure current scope does not exceed contractual scope and associated budget allowances.
- In conjunction with the Director, develop the project Budget-to-Build to a suitable format for the project, ensuring it is mapped to the original tender budget.
- Managing the operation of projects right from conception, to planning and execution, ensuring that clear areas of duties are defined, and areas of dependency are monitored and delivered upon.
- Preparing detailed analytical tenders, maintaining a library of pricing and outputs data, and assisting with the management of production, and negotiating estimates and tenders.
- Expectation to plan and monitor projects efficiently within the organisation, liaising and analysing with the team members the conditions and processes that are necessary to reach the project objectives.
- Identify and understanding project requirements, determining key variables, conducting research, looking up or checking up on offers from vendors and subcontractors, maintaining relationships with key vendors, and estimating manpower needs.
Skills, Qualifications & Other Requirements

- Tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
- Relevant construction and infrastructure experience. Minimum 2 years experience
- Working with a tier 1 or 2 contractor would be beneficial
- Previous experience working on rail projects highly desirable but not essential.
